Meet Alice

I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and I have been in practice for over eight years.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic models and interventions to respond to each client as an individual. This includes creative and somatic approaches alongside CBT-informed work, supporting you in exploring your emotional world and moving towards greater balance and wellbeing.

I am also an EMDR therapist. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed approach that can be helpful for processing distressing or overwhelming experiences, particularly those that continue to affect the present. However, EMDR is not suitable for everyone, and I do not assume or rush into it. Any EMDR work is carefully assessed, prepared for, and paced, with attention to safety, readiness, and choice.

Here’s a list of areas I regularly work on in my private practice; I have worked with many other issues beyond this list, and I am open to working with any issue or reason you may have for seeking counselling.

Areas I commonly work with include:

  • Abuse

  • Addictive behaviours

  • Anger management

  • Anxiety

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Childhood issues

  • Depression

  • Family breakdown

  • Loneliness

  • Panic attacks

  • Phobias

  • Redundancy or retirement

  • Sexuality issues

  • Stress

This list is not exhaustive. I have worked with many other difficulties and remain open to working with whatever brings you to counselling.

Sessions offer a reflective and supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns that may be causing distress, and to gently support meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

I believe it is essential to tailor therapy to the individual, working with creativity, compassion, and care. My focus is always on you and your needs, rather than applying a fixed model or approach.

I also bring my own experience of being in therapy, and I understand the courage it can take to reach out for support. If you are reading this, you have already taken a meaningful first step.
